Technology 1985
During the 80s automatic systems were perceived as a necessity because of the "Just-In-Time" theme and the rising degree of automation. In 1985 a new automatic type became present on the market. The preselected source- and receiver-lines are pushed onto the central passing-hole. This provides one singular line from the source to the receiver. After each and every conveying-cycle a new connection must be formed through switching to a new source and a new receiver.
Advantages
No check-valves needed
A blackout is restricted to either one source or one receiver
Disadvantages
Large investment
Purging has to be insatalled separatly
Requires a lot of space
